This is the idea of professional dancer, Kafayat Shafau, better know as Kaffy, Imagneto is a word gained from the X-man action action figure 'Magneto' who's mutant power is to attract anything made of steel connotes the reason behind the academy. Dance as we all know of or have experienced has an attractive force on, it and that snatches the attention of the observer, even a mad man dancing on the street attracts more than a few stares

This reason alone shows how dance can impact an individuals mindset. After working with several organizations and individuals and realizing the power of dance and the lack of education as concerns the art in these parts, Kaffy decided to start a school which would act as a place of refuge as well as an institution. Thus the idea of school where all could come together to utilize the positive energy was waiting to happen.

Furthermore the school was started to discover uncharted talent and tap into young and in most cases, un-channeled energy which, if left, might be diverted to negative uses. The school offers these young ones the opportunity to decide the direction of their life and a high profile platform to lunch their careers.

The underlining thought is that practitioners of dance in Nigeria had previously been heavily stigmatized and the art has been left as the reserve of never-do-wells and illiterates. However, with the incursion of educated young stars into the industry, more parents have begun to see to dance as a positive outlet of pent-up emotions and energy, even more than being a shoe of talent and skills.

The academy offers classes in the following areas;

• Africa bata
• Hiphop the Nigerian way
• Indian dances
• Latindances
• Aerobics
• Cardio training
• psychotherapy

The diversity of the dance styles contributes inmensely to the body co ordination, creativity and unique skills.
The curriculum concentrates not only on these styles of dance but also morally guiding them as well as improving their etiquette and discipline in the art and their environment

Objectives

• Help youths in self-discovery. Channeling their thoughts towards positive contribution to the society thereby helping them to know exactly how and what they want to do.
• Help keep talented people off the streets
• Create atmosphere of learning whether or not you are in a school
• Help talented dancers grow by exposing them to the art through dance competitions, seminars, shows and concerts worldwide
• Promote our own style and interpretation of different sound and rhythm to the world through the aforementioned channels
• Contribute to both local and international unity
• Building the first Nigerian dance institute of learning where people will be certified for dancing.
• Affiliating with our universities for stronger educational support.
